My Review

No opinions or disparagement, just the facts about our experience with Trey Jones of Property Design Group:

 

Since posting a review on Yelp, I have been contacted by multiple customers of Trey's who have had remarkably similar experiences with him/PDG. I created this website not to disparage or embarrass anyone but simply because I want to do what I can to prevent what happened to us from happening to anyone else in the future.

 

We hired and paid Trey Jones (Robert T. Jones)/Property Design Group over $150,000 to build a pool and outdoor kitchen, and landscape our property. After being months behind schedule, including long stretches of time going by with no work being done on our project, many deadlines missed, and slow to unresponsive communication, we fired Trey/PDG.

During this time (before and after we fired him), we were contacted by three of Trey's subcontractors who say they were not paid for their work and/or received bad checks from Trey. These subcontractors threatened to put a lien on our home if we didn't pay them personally, even though we had already paid Trey Jones/Property Design Group for their work.

After we fired Trey, another pool company came in and finished our pool in 1 week, a pool which had sat half-finished with no work done for 3 months before we fired Trey. Between the pool, landscaping and outdoor kitchen, we ended up paying other contractors over $60,000 to finish the work we had already paid Trey Jones/PDG to do.

Trey Jones has created many LLCs that are "property design" and pool building businesses. Homestead Land Design is another LLC of Trey's. Before Property Design Group there was Lone Star Land Design, etc...

UPDATE: Since creating My Unfinished Pool, it seems Property Design Group has closed, and Homestead Land Design is now Republic Outdoor Living.
